Charterhouse has a new and exciting opportunity working on behalf of a well-established organisation based in Qatar. Our client is looking to hire an experienced Procurement Officer who is CIPS Certified and who has experience within the ports/terminal industry.
About the role
This is a key role within the organisation supporting the Head of Procurement for the procurement of goods and services within the port management industry, including the procurement of heavy equipment. You will be responsible for assisting the manager with all purchasing related activities and logistics for materials as well as products, ensuring ordered materials and products are received within agreed time frames and budgets.
To be considered for the role you will have a minimum of 3 years’ procurement experience within the ports/terminal industry, including the procurement of engineering equipment (eg: cranes, heavy vehicles, forklifts), spare parts, consumables and equipment repair maintenance as well as support. You should have excellent knowledge of procurement techniques, policies and procedures along with analysing and planning optimal sourcing and procurement strategies. In addition, you must have outstanding negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
You should be fluent in English, with Arabic fluency being highly advantageous. It is essential you have a Degree in Supply Chain or similar discipline and you must hold a CIPS Certificate to be considered for the vacancy.
