Charterhouse is working with a leading hospitality group in Qatar, who are expanding and looking to hire a Head Chef specialising in Japanese cuisine for their Japanese restaurant brand.
About the role
This role will involve managing the full BOH team reporting directly to the Group Corporate Chef. You will be involved in all aspects of the kitchen from menu generation, training and all day to day culinary activities.
The ideal candidate will have at least 3-4 years’ experience in a Speciality Japanese Chef or Head Japanese Chef position ideally with experience in Asia as well as a strong background in Sushi. You should have been trained or worked extensively in all areas of Japanese cuisine. Ideally having progressed in your career to the level of Head Outlet Chef or Head Sushi Chef. You will have experience in managing a team of 15 to 20, the ability to run the whole kitchen, having been a valued contributor to the restaurant.
In addition, this role really needs someone that has great team spirit, leadership and a passion for Japanese cuisine. As the cuisine of the restaurant is Japanese and the role specialises in sushi, preference will be given to individuals that have trained in sushi and have performed a similar role or are looking for the next step up in their career.
