Charterhouse is working with an iconic global event organisation who are looking to hire an Administration Director to join the team in Qatar. This is an integral role where the incumbent will be responsible for the operational delivery of the event leading all administration services. These include Office Administration, Government Relations, Office IT and Workforce Management (including HR services including payroll) and Catering, working to achieve strategic priorities and ensure that practices, policies and project initiatives are aligned with best practice.
About the role
This is an exciting role overseeing the Departmental Business Plan in alignment with the event’s mission and vision, reviewing and authorising business plans developed. You will ensure Office Administration and Office IT Services are provided efficiently and that the Workforce Management and Catering functions are efficiently planned and delivered. You will support and lead a team ensuring all deliverables are met and build necessary departmental foundations including the frameworks, policies, processes and procedures required to enable delivery of plans. At the same time leading the development and expansion of the administration’s capability. This role will involve senior Stakeholder management and you will be accountable for evaluating the costs and benefits of all new ideas and initiatives to ensure resources are appropriately directed supporting KRA’s. You will provide leadership across a wide range of issues e.g. HR Law and worker’s welfare when dealing with external law enforcement, ministries, safety and security agencies for safety alignment locally, regionally and internationally. You will also ensure assigned responsibilities are delivered to a high standard and timeliness in compliance with local regulations and the safety and security rules and requirements
The successful candidate will have 10-15 years’ experience in Business Administration and will be Degree educated or have adequate training/vocational education. You will have a proven track record working in operational workforce planning for events, event planning and event project management processes with experience working with multiple Stakeholders across a wide range of business functions. You should have experience of successfully managing large budgets and resources, holding significant responsibility for decision making. A proven track record of accomplishment in managing complex projects, preferably international sports events with a minimum 8 years’ experience in managing teams within the Business Administration area. In addition, proven management experience of complex projects and managing multi-disciplined teams across a variety of business areas. Experience in Tournament Management is preferred and knowledge of the local culture will be an added advantageous.
