Charterhouse are presently managing a search, for one of our Qatari client’s, whom are in the process of looking to identify a Head of Internal Audit. With a functional reporting line to the Audit Committee and a supporting line to the Chief Executive Officer, this role shall take ownership of the department, with a remit to plan, develop and oversee the full spectrum of functions linking to Internal Audit and all related governance and controllership.
About the role
This role shall also be heavily geared towards the review of policy, to assess the effectiveness, standard of risk mitigation and resource allocation across the group’s Internal Audit platform. This shall entail the review of risk management frameworks and operational processes, to allow for the enhancement of functional methodologies, combined with a development of all planning and reporting policies and procedures. This role shall also partner with External Auditors and regulatory/compliance bodies, to implement industry best practice and compliance monitoring tools whilst also ensuring that all business/commercial nuances are factored-in to the operating plan, team deployment and audit delivery.
The client will look to hire a seasoned finance and audit professional, with up to 15 years of experience, of which the latter exposure should be geared towards a sector background within logistics and/or supply chain related industries. The successful candidate will come from a professional Chartered Accountancy background (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or CPA) and shall also possess an Internal Audit related qualification (ACII, CIA or CISA). Candidates shall be required to have a demonstrable track record with the Qatar and/or regional GCC markets; whereby deliverables of operational excellence and change management can be displayed. This senior role shall require a strong communication and presentation skill set; allowing the candidate to be well-placed to liaise and influence at all levels of staff and management grades. In conjunction, the client has placed a preference and desire to also identify candidates with a strong international and blue-chip background.
